Food poisoning
Food poisoning, also known as foodborne illness, is an ailment resulting from consuming contaminated food or beverages. Common culprits include bacteria, viruses, or pollutants that enter the food supply chain. These undesired trespassers like E-coli, salmonella, or even chemical toxins often find their way into eatables during growth, harvest, processing, storage, or cooking. Symptoms can range from mild discomfort to severe health complications, including diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. Else, in extreme situations, hospitalization may be required for dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Note that prevention is crucial, including appropriate food handling and cooking procedures, to ensure its safety and avoid foodborne diseases.
