Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Integrated Pest Management, or IPM, is a term used in the pest control industry to define an environmentally friendly approach with a focus on collaboration. Instead of using a single pest control method, IPM encourages multiple, complementing strategies. These pest deterrent tactics include biological control, habitat manipulation, modification of cultural practices, and use of resistant varieties. IPM is less about slaughtering every pest and is more about judiciously optimizing control tactics. It is an environmental campaigner, enabling a reduction in the usage of harmful pesticides and the prevention of pesticide resistance in its aim to maintain a balance in the ecosystem.
